Choosing My NFL Team: Why I'm All In on the _____________________

    I have selected my NFL team to root for. Being a Canadian and a fan of the NHL, NBA, and MLB, picking a team to root for was easy—there's usually just one Canadian option. However, the NFL obviously has no Canadian team. So, I have just been like the Rob Lowe in the NFL logo hat meme, following the league without the burden of caring when a team loses. I no longer think this is fair and have decided on my team to root for. 

  



   I couldn't go with the Bills since there are lots of Bills fans around here, and I like to be a contrarian. I can't go with the Chiefs or 49ers because they are too good; that would be jumping on the bandwagon again, which is not something I'm looking to do. I want a team that I can sink my claws into now and hopefully see them become good in a couple of years. By then, I will be deemed a loyal fan.

In a bold display of authority the NBA looked at a perfectly normal Celebrity 3-Point Contest featuring Druski, Caleb Williams and Plaqeboymax and said, “You know what this needs? An actual NBA guard.” Not a retired one. Not a G League cameo. A real, rotation-level professional shooter. Because balance is for other leagues. Fans were initially excited about the concept. Celebrities bricking shots. A quarterback discovering depth perception in real time. A comedian heat-checking from the corner like it is a pickup run at LA Fitness. The post championship playbook is usually predictable as an American: win gold, board a flight to Washington, smile on the steps of the White House, and pose for awkward group photos that end up on cereal boxes.
